Dabba, BONK Team Up to Expand Web Access Globally
Catenaa, Thursday, April 24, 2025- Dabba Network, a decentralized wireless infrastructure provider, has partnered with Solana-based BONK to deliver internet access to underserved communities through 10,000 new Dabba Lite hotspots, the companies announced April 7. Under the initiative, each hotspot activation will burn $20 worth of BONK tokens, with an additional $2 worth burned monthly over an 18-month period, aligning token utility with real-world connectivity. The partnership, revealed at the Solana Summit, is designed to fuse community-driven energy with decentralized infrastructure, helping bridge the global digital divide. India alone has more than 600 million people lacking internet access, while over 3 billion remain unconnected globally. Dabba aims to address that need with affordable, community-owned devices priced at $299, including onboarding costs. The BONK community will receive exclusive access to the first 10,000 units. “This is a win-win model,” said Jamie Kingsley, a Dabba representative. “Communities gain connectivity, while token holders benefit from a sustainable burn mechanism and long-term utility.” The initiative is supported by BONK DAO and includes a microsite launch, community engagement events, and educational content. Planned features include Galxe quests, Twitter Spaces titled “Deep in DePIN,” and town halls to promote participation. By combining BONK’s meme-inspired brand with Dabba’s on-the-ground infrastructure, the collaboration highlights how Web3 technologies can create positive social change through decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs). The partnership not only advances BONK’s practical use cases but also exemplifies the power of token-based ecosystems in driving global development through blockchain.
